Teiger Foundation is committed to contributing to a just transition to a world without fossil fuels. We are currently developing a pilot Climate Action program whose goal is to offer tailored support for visual art curators and organizations to embed climate-consciousness into both their daily operations and programmatic missions.

Over the next two years, we will work in partnership with our grantees, current and future, to shape and adapt this program. We have already begun working in various ways with our 2022 grantees, the non-profit members of PACT, and through their efforts understand more every day about how people in contemporary visual art can contribute to urgent climate action.

Taking into account how scale and scope influence the climate impact of different organizations, we believe that sustainable ways of mounting projects, hosting visitors, and supporting staff and artists can be modeled, built in community, integrated into mission, and clearly and creatively communicated.

We invite applicants to our current call for proposals to indicate their interest in participating in the Climate Action pilot. You can do this on the last page of the application. Please note: interest in the Climate Action program does not impact the evaluation of your grant application. It is a separate but parallel initiative.

Please check back here for updates on Teiger Foundation’s efforts to support curatorial work and the art ecosystem in an equitable, creative, and responsive way at a moment of profound disruption.
